A reading from the holy Gospel according to John
Some in the crowd who heard these words of Jesus said, “This is truly the Prophet.” Others said, “This is the Christ.” But others said, “The Christ will not come from Galilee, will he?

Jesus moved about within Galilee; he did not wish to travel in Judea, because the Jews were trying to kill him.
Jesus said to the Jews: “If I testify on my own behalf, my testimony is not true.
Jesus answered the Jews: “My Father is at work until now, so I am at work.” For this reason they tried all the more to kill him, because he not only broke the sabbath but he also called God his own father, making himself equal to God.
There was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
At that time Jesus left [Samaria] for Galilee.
As Jesus passed by he saw a man blind from birth.
Jesus addressed this parable to those who were convinced of their own righteousness and despised everyone else.
One of the scribes came to Jesus and asked him, “Which is the first of all the commandments?” Jesus replied: “The first is this: Hear, O Israel!
Jesus was driving out a demon that was mute, and when the demon had gone out, the mute man spoke and the crowds were amazed.
