After John had been arrested, Jesus came to Galilee proclaiming the gospel of God: “This is the time of fulfillment.

As Jesus was passing through a field of grain on the sabbath, his disciples began to make a path while picking the heads of grain.
The disciples of John and of the Pharisees were accustomed to fast.
John was standing with two of his disciples, and as he watched Jesus walk by, he said, “Behold, the Lamb of God.” The two disciples heard what he said and followed Jesus.
