A reading from the holy Gospel according to Mark 1:14-20
After John had been arrested, Jesus came to Galilee proclaiming the Gospel of God: “This is the time of fulfillment.

Thus says the Lord:/ Here is my servant whom I uphold,/ my chosen one with whom I am pleased,/ upon whom I have put my spirit;/ he shall bring forth justice to the nations,/ not crying out, not shouting,/ not making his voice heard in the street./ A bruised reed he shall not break,/ and a smoldering wick he shall not quench,/ until he establishes justice on the earth;/ the coastlands will wait for his teaching.
Peter proceeded to speak to those gathered in the house of Cornelius, saying: “In truth, I see that God shows no partiality.
Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him.
Jesus and his disciples went into the region of Judea, where he spent some time with them baptizing.
Beloved: We have this confidence in him that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.
Beloved: Who indeed is the victor over the world but the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
It happened that there was a man full of leprosy in one of the towns where Jesus was; and when he saw Jesus, he fell prostrate, pleaded with him, and said, “Lord, if you wish, you can make me clean.” Jesus stretched out his hand, touched him, and said, “I do will it.
Beloved, we love God because he first loved us.
Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news of him spread throughout the whole region.
