Beloved: Wait for and hasten the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved in flames and the elements melted by fire.

Beloved: May grace and peace be yours in abundance through knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.

Brothers and sisters, rejoice.

Early in the morning Moses went up Mount Sinai as the Lord had commanded him, taking along the two stone tablets.

Beloved, remember the words spoken beforehand by the Apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Beloved: The end of all things is at hand.

Beloved: Like newborn infants, long for pure spiritual milk so that through it you may grow into salvation, for you have tasted that the Lord is good.

Beloved: Realize that you were ransomed from your futile conduct, handed on by your ancestors, not with perishable things like silver or gold but with the precious Blood of Christ as of a spotless unblemished Lamb.

Beloved: Concerning the salvation of your souls the prophets who prophesied about the grace that was to be yours searched and investigated it investigating the time and circumstances that the Spirit of Christ within them indicated when it testified in advance to the sufferings destined for Christ and the glories to follow them.

After Jesus had been taken up to heaven, the Apostles returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a sabbath day’s journey away.
