A reading from the Book of the Prophet Zephaniah 2:3; 3:12-13
Seek the Lord, all you humble of the earth,/ who have observed his law;/ seek justice, seek humility;/ perhaps you may be sheltered/ on the day of the Lord’s anger.

On that day, as evening drew on, Jesus said to his disciples: “Let us cross to the other side.” Leaving the crowd, they took Jesus with them in the boat just as he was.
The Lord sent Nathan to David, and when he came to him, Nathan said: “Judge this case for me!

Jesus said to his disciples, “Is a lamp brought in to be placed under a bushel basket or under a bed, and not to be placed on a lampstand?
After Nathan had spoken to King David, the king went in and sat before the Lord and said, “Who am I, Lord God, and who are the members of my house, that you have brought me to this point?
